Your first payment due date is listed in your loan agreement and in your online account. Log in to confirm your specific due date.
You can make your loan payments through PenFed Online or our mobile app using funds from your PenFed account or a verified external bank account you’ve linked to your profile.
For added convenience, you can also enroll in AutoPay to have your payments made automatically each month.

Yes. A late fee will not be assessed until 5 calendar days after your payment due date, giving you a 5-day grace period to make your payment.
No, PenFed never assesses pre-payment or early payoff charges or penalties.
Direct payments typically reach your creditors within 3-5 business days after your loan is funded. Continue making regular payments until you confirm that your creditors have received the payment. We'll send you email updates on the status of your direct payments throughout the process.
You can link your external account by logging into PenFed, selecting “manage my external accounts” from the transfers tab, and clicking the “Add External Account” link. Then you can follow the on-screen instructions to link an account of your choice.
The account number can be viewed by selecting your loan from your account dashboard. This information is also located on your loan agreement.
