Deposit Anywhere (check scan edition)
The Deposit Anywhere service can be used in conjunction with a scanner to deposit up to $5,000 per member per day. Simply scan the front and back of the check to deposit the funds without having to mail the check to a PenFed location for processing. Funds deposited using this method are subject to PenFed's normal funds availability policy. See Membership Disclosures for more information.
Deposit Anywhere (mailed)
If you have a Complete Access checking account, you can deposit checks via computer and send the checks via the mail. Your deposit, up to your approved amount, will be available in your account immediately.
You'll save time when you do not have to go to an ATM or branch to deposit checks! Best of all, there is no Pentagon Federal Credit Union fee for using this service. Certain other eligibility requirements apply. See details below.
Am I eligible for Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service?
You are eligible if you meet the following requirements:
- You have been a member for at least six months
- Your accounts are in good standing
- You have a valid address in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
- You have an active Complete Access checking account.
Active checking accounts are defined as showing withdrawals and deposits. Dividend postings are not considered a transactional activity
- You have a valid PIN
Which members are not eligible for this service?
Members with a PenCheck Plus account as the primary access account are not eligible for this service. Members who have had an overdraft in their account less than six months previous are not eligible for this service. Other members may not be eligible. How do I sign up for Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service?
Log on to PenFed Online. If you're eligible for the service, you'll be prompted by PenFed Online and able to click a button to sign up for Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service.
How does Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service work?
When you need to deposit a check, complete the transaction in PenFed Online using the deposit button. Complete all the information requested on the deposit screen, then press the deposit button. Once the transaction is successfully completed, you will receive a confirmation number; please record it! Mail your check(s) using the initial supply of return envelopes supplied to you. For fastest processing, please write your confirmation number on the envelope. The funds from your check, up to your approved amount, will be available in your checking account immediately upon entering the deposit in PenFed Online. Click the 'Log Out' button to sign off or the 'Main Menu' button to continue.
How can I use the deposited funds that are immediately available?
You can use those funds for other PenFed Online transactions (to pay a loan or transfer money to another account), you can pay bills - you can even withdraw the funds from an ATM.
What happens if I receive an error message?
Make sure that you've entered all the required information on the deposit screen.
To use Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service, you must continue to maintain your eligibility. If you become ineligible, you will not be able to use this service until the situation is corrected. An error message will be displayed in PenFed Online along with the cause of the service denial.

Where do I mail my check(s)?
You may use the initial supply of return envelopes supplied to you to mail your check(s) immediately to:

Please write the confirmation number that was provided from PenFed Online on the envelope for fastest processing on your account.
Your check must be received within 8 days of your PenFed Online deposit. When you no longer have preprinted envelopes, you can use your own envelope and print mailing labels or write the address yourself.
You must mail the checks to this address only. Please do not deposit your check(s) via an ATM or a branch or mail them to other addresses. That could delay your deposit and result in errors to your account.
What happens if my check does not arrive within eight business days?
You will receive an e-mail notification, and your deposit will be reversed. Please note that you will be responsible for any associated fees that may result from this reversal. Your access to this service will also be revoked. If you feel that there is an error, please call us immediately at 1-800-247-5626.

How many checks can I deposit at one time with Deposit Anywhere?
You can deposit up to 5 checks in each deposit transaction, however:
- You cannot have more than 20 checks outstanding, meaning you deposited them via PenFed Online but they have not been received and processed by our office.
- You cannot exceed your float amount with these and any other outstanding PenFed Online deposits. This float amount is the maximum dollar amount allowed for outstanding deposits and is noted on the screen when you make a deposit.
If you have reached your limit, you will have to wait until some or all of the floating deposits have been received and processed.
Can I increase the amount that I'm allowed to deposit?
Yes. Please call 1-800-247-5626 and tell your member service representative that you'd like to increase the amount allowed by Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service. You will be transferred to a supervisor who can process your request.
What happens if I'm enrolled for Deposit Anywhere Home Deposit Service and move overseas?
If your address of record changes to an overseas address, your account will no longer be eligible for the service.
