Aviation Pioneers

Congratulations to the Aviation Branch celebrating 25 years of dedicated service to our Army as a separate branch established on 12 April 1983. A special tribute is acknowledged to those early warrant officer aviators who performed a variety of reconnaissance, transport, and fire support missions leading to the recognition of the growing importance of aviation in Army doctrine and operations. USAWOA salutes today’s aviation warrant officers and works closely with AAAA through the Military Coalition (TMC) to work for continued recognition of the Warrant Officer Corps. Aviation warrant officers have served in leadership positions in USAWOA at the chapter, region and national level in support of our mutual goals. CW4 (Ret) Don Joyce, a past USAWOA National Director provided photo of his class.

Post Honors Fallen Signaleer

On November 9, 2007, a wing of Saltzman Hall at the Army Signal Center and School at Fort Gordon, GA has been named in memory of CW2 Scott Coulter.  Scott is the only Signal warrant officer we have lost to date in our current war.  It was a fantastic ceremony.  CW4 Kevin Hanner and the folks at the schoolhouse did a super job of getting the program together and making it happen.  It was initiated, planned and implemented by warrant officers in memory of a fellow warrant officer. See more.
